We’re starting our first ever DevSecCon Wales meetup by running a HackTheBox workshop!
Hack The Box (HTB) is a massive online cybersecurity training platform that allows individuals, companies, universities and all kinds of organisations worldwide to level up their hacking skills.
So we reached out to Freddie(@freddie0x1), who is coming to Cardiff for the night to show us how he hacks. He’ll give us a guided tour of HTB, share their experiences and thought processes of how they compete in CTF competitions and share some of their stories.
Why not look at Freddie’s recent stream of Hacking Will Tear Us Apart to get up to speed on what we’re going to be getting up to.
Freddie is an avid cyber security student who hacks on CTFs, Bug Bounties, and HackTheBox (you’d hope). He is interested in vulnerability hunting from a cloud perspective and how services can be utilised and exploited by attackers.

To join the workshop, you will need access to a laptop. If you’d rather, you can work with a team during this workshop. We will be using HackTheBox, so have a look at their Beginners Bible if you want to get started before the event. Equally, Freddie will be walking us through how they compete in the competitions, so feel free to sit back and relax as Freddie does all the hard work =D
